Dear Christian Service Charities Members,
The Christian Service Charites board is excited to provide this update on our CEO transition. As you may recall, we communicated in the spring of 2016 that Tom Youngblood had announced his plans after 9 years of service as CEO to begin his transition into retirement. We are grateful to Tom for staying on an additional year to give the board time to work on transition planning and finding his replacement. With Tom’s recent departure, we are equally excited to announce Royce Bervig as the new President and CEO, reporting Monday, July 31, 2017.
Royce is in the process of transitioning out of his current role as the Vice President of Development with Family Policy Alliance based in Colorado Springs. Prior to joining Family Policy Alliance, Royce served nine years as the Senior Development Officer at Focus on the Family. Prior to joining Focus on the Family, Royce enjoyed a 30-year career with the J.C. Penney Company, where he served in key leadership roles at store, district, region and corporate level assignments.
As a former CSC board member whose term as president ended in 2016, Royce comes to Christian Service Charities with a member centric view, emphasis and perspective. This past fall, he initiated and led the board and staff through the first phase of a new strategic planning initiative to identify new strategies that will help Christian Service Charities leverage the equity and distinctiveness of our “faith based” brand in workplace giving programs, while also improving our member service model with new cutting-edge technologies and processes to ensure we bring more value and less cost to the membership. We believe Royce’s passion, leadership and experience with strategic planning, marketing, branding and team building will position Christian Service Charities and its members for future success in the days ahead.
Royce is a graduate of Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. He is a long-time Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and loves the challenge of taking on do-it-yourself home improvement projects. He enjoys discipling and mentoring men to pursue a life of knowing Christ and making Christ known. Royce and his wife, Shawn, are the proud parents of three grown children and six grandchildren. Please join me, the staff and board, in extending congratulations to Royce as we welcome him into his new role as the President and CEO.
In closing, on behalf of the entire CSC board and staff, we want to extend a heartfelt and sincere thank you to each of our members. Working together, it is rewarding and exciting to know that the collective success of each respective vision and mission of our members is bringing life changing transformation and Kingdom building impact around the globe.
Respectfully and Prayerfully,
President of the Board of Directors
